Tool Objects have no function. They are purely sculptural. They have no hole in the top for flowers, and are offered in unique glaze combinations.
Tools and flowers might seem an odd combination, but Harry finds as much beauty in the tools that help him create as he does in the miraculous structure of flowers. Tool Vases were Harry’s first foray into slip-casting. Tool Vases presented a very difficult mold-making challenge, and thus a great learning experience for Harry. The resulting object is a compelling study of ceramic production. None of the tool objects are perfect, they often have seams and inconsistencies but we love them exactly for that reason. Its interesting how the mind completes the picture and overlooks inconsistencies to read a form.
