Description
This table was presented to two or three manufacturers in the early 2000s. Unselected, it sat in Harry’s ‘good ideas’ file until he renovated his most recent live/work space in New York City, where space is at a premium. Harry needed an everyday table that seated four to six, with the potential of entertaining up to ten or twelve people. Necessity being the mother of invention, Stretch was finally born.
Harry loves plywood, and the long lines of Stretch’s slat tabletop were just begging for exposed plies. In its outstretched position the table top has a lot of negative space. It’s beautiful, but a little precarious for wine glasses and silverware, so a line of leather placemats is coming soon to add some surface area.
