Tool Vases were Harry’s first foray into slip-casting. Tools and flowers might seem an odd combination, but Harry finds as much beauty in the tools that help him create as he does in the miraculous structure of flowers.
These tool vases presented a very difficult mold-making challenge, and thus a great learning experience for Harry. The resulting object is a compelling study of ceramic production. None of the tool objects are perfect, they often have seams and inconsistencies but we love them exactly for that reason. its interesting how the mind completes the picture and overlooks inconsistencies to read a form.
Tool objects are offered in all of our transparent Jaleh glazes which bring out details.
These objects look great as a bud vase, but they are just as beautiful on their own. Because of that Harry thought to eliminate the function all together, and Tool Objects were born. Purely sculptural. No hole in the top for a flower, offered in complex glaze combinations.
Tool vases measure approximately 12” high x 3.5” x 4.5
