Designed for Ikea, Kila was inspired by Harry’s long-standing interest in rollerskating. Three rubber wheels support the lamp and allow it to move in circles. Harry says, “Kila spins on its axis as if it had been practicing that move in the rink for years.” The bright red metal lamp, playful and reminiscent of 1960’s European design, was eye-catching in store, and the $14.99 price tag did not hurt the sales either. Kila was in the Ikea line for many years. It received an Honorable Mention in I.D. Magazine’s 2004 Design Review and appeared in much press and media.
