Harry Allen chose slip-casting as his medium for Generative Ceramics, his latest foray into production. Slip-casting is a ceramic production technique whereby forms are cast in plaster molds. The technique enables Harry to play at the crossroads of art, design, and craft. Generative Ceramics are all made by hand in the designer’s studio factory. Many of the first projects are ‘Reality’ based, although some more ‘formal’ work is on the horizon. Depending on the object, Generative Ceramics are made in various size editions. Please refer to individual projects for edition information. Lead time on orders will vary but in general can be estimated at 8 to 12 weeks.
